Privacy Policy

Last updated September 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use. It explains what Pulpit collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By creating an account you agree to this Policy.

1. Who controls the data

Pulpit, 7244 Possum Hollow Rd, Booneville, Arkansas 72927, the operator of the desk at pulpit.grok.me, is the controller of personal information collected through Pulpit. Processors we use (hosting, authentication, Stripe, AI, advertising measurement, and social distributors you connect) process data on our instructions or yours.

2. Information we collect

  • Account: name, email, sign-in provider (including X), user id, and profile fields you give us.
  • Desk content: sermons, notes, captures, photos, audio, highlights, reading place, settings, Learn-my-voice samples, brand kit, and similar material you store.
  • Billing: plan, period, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and fulfillment status. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe does.
  • Device and log: IP address, browser, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, install/download events, and error logs.
  • Communications: messages you send through Contact us or email.
  • Advertising measurement: only if you turn on “Allow the Meta Pixel” in Settings. Then the Meta Pixel may collect PageView, registration, and checkout events as described below. It does not run unless you consent.

3. How we use it

We use this information to provide and secure the desk, keep you signed in, process Free / Day Pass / Pro, generate study aids from what you capture, remember reading place and translation, send scripture-of-the-day posts if you enable them, measure ads, prevent fraud, meet law, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not sell your sermons.

4. Voice, photos, and AI

Voice captures, photographs of pages, and typed text may be sent to automated processors (including the Grok backend) so the desk can transcribe, OCR, line up Scripture, and draft outlines. Do not capture pages or recordings you are not allowed to process. You instruct us to perform that processing when you use Capture, Fill, Hear, auto-post, or similar tools.

5. Device permissions

A native or installed copy of Pulpit may ask for the camera, microphone, photos, and notifications. Camera photographs a Bible page or handwritten note for the outline. Microphone records a spoken thought so it can be transcribed. Photos lets you pick an image already on the device. Notifications send the Daily Verse when you turn that on in Settings. You can refuse any of these; the rest of the desk still works.

6. Cookies and similar technology

We use a session cookie or token to keep you signed in, and local storage for reading place, translation, highlighter hints, ad-measurement consent, and similar preferences. The Meta Pixel runs only if you turn it on in Settings. You can clear site data in the browser. Blocking cookies may break sign-in.

7. Sharing

We share personal information only:

  • with processors who help run the desk (hosting, auth, Stripe, AI, email if used);
  • with Meta, only if you turned on the Meta Pixel in Settings;
  • with Buffer, Zapier, dlvr.it, or a social platform, if you connect them and ask us to post;
  • if required by law, court order, or to protect the owner, users, or the public;
  • in a merger, sale, or transfer of the service, under this same Policy or notice we give you.

We do not rent your email list. Church staff you invite, if that feature exists, see only what you share with them.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep account and desk data while the account is open. Billing records and security logs may be kept as law and fraud prevention require. You can delete the account in Settings (type DELETE to confirm). We then remove personal data we control, except copies we must keep (payments, legal claims, backups in ordinary rotation). Deleting the account does not remove posts already sent to social networks. The owner desk cannot be deleted from Settings.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You use the desk at your own risk as to residual security incidents that occur despite those measures, except where law imposes a non-waivable duty.

10. Children

Pulpit is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the rule). If you believe a child created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your choices and state rights

We may access or update much of your information in the desk, sign out, disconnect social posting, and turn off notifications you enabled. You can turn the Meta Pixel off in Settings at any time. Residents of California and other states that grant privacy rights may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, and may appeal a refusal, by writing to Pulpit, 7244 Possum Hollow Rd, Booneville, Arkansas 72927, or [email protected], from the email on the account with the subject “Privacy request — Pulpit.” We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right the law gives you. We do not sell or share personal information as “sale” or “share” are defined in the CCPA/CPRA for cross-context behavioral advertising, except Pixel measurement of our own ads when you have consented. You may use the Global Privacy Control or Meta’s ad settings where those apply.

12. International

The desk is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where laws may differ from those where you live.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy. The date at the top will change. Continued use after the update is acceptance, except where law requires a new consent.
